Could Facebook impair mental performance? Is it possible that Facebook can cause cancer, strokes, heart disease and dementia? Are social networking sites overall bad for your health?Maybe it's a good thing this dad is giving up Facebook for Lent. (Another dad gave it up all together.)
In any event, does social media make us better people? Or does it contribute to the decay of tact, politeness and common decency? Let's face it - It's a lot easier to be a wienie over the net, than it is to be one in person.
Is Facebook bad for us?
What do you think?

Keeping Facebook and my blog, but giving up all other social networks.
Oh and I warned all my "friends" I won't be returning any of their :"gifts" anymore. No plants, karma, drinks, jewels, mafia jobs.....etc.
Hey there .. thanks for stopping by my blog!
I think FB can be bad for people, especially those who are a little introverted ... but on the flip side, it can also help a person come out of their shell a little. It has done that for me!
One thing I love about Facebook is how many people from the past come back. Like the kid you sat next to in 3rd grade, but left in the middle of the year, never to be heard from again until.. "John Smith has added you as a friend.."
It has replaced email as the online way of keeping in touch with friends. I can spend 30 minutes on Facebook gives me far more reach than 30 minutes of reading/writing email.
Too much of a good thing can have negative consequences. If I spend too much time on Facebook, I neglect my MySpace, Meetup, and Twitter!!! but seriously, step away from the computer and do what these sites actually intended for you to do - go out and socialize with the people you find through these sites.
